Labour day is celebrated on the 4th Monday of October every year it’s a celebration for workers that have worked for money and to give workers a break.

New Zealand is one of the first countries in the world to work for 8 hours a day because a man name Samuel Parnell fought for workers who struggled working. He went to court for convincing the government to change working hours to 8 hours a day and to give workers a rest

Labour Day was first celebrated in New Zealand on the 28th of October 1890 ,when shops and businesses closed down part of the day to attend the parades ,and many government employees were given the day off as well.
